Hill Skills courses are run in conjunction with Wet and High Adventures Ltd, a Mountain Training course provider. Wet and High Adventures Ltd specialise in providing bespoke instruction and coaching to individuals and groups. They are based in Somerset but we operate all through the South West. They also offer courses in North Wales and Scotland.
Adventure Therapy are a charity that improves the well-being of children and adults with health conditions or limitations through free outdoor and adventure-led activities. Climb Devon are proud to be working with Adventure Therapy as an Approved Activity Provider over the 2020 period.
Climb Devon is fully insured with the world’s largest insurance broker, Lockton UK under the Ascend Insurance, for public liability, professional liability, products liability and employers liability. This insurance applies for all activities within the remit of the Mountain Training qualifications currently held, including low level team building activities, bush-craft, route setting, film and media work. Currently activities insured for fall underneath the scope and remit of the following Mountain Training qualifications; Hill and Moorland Leader, Expedition Module, Mountain Leader, Climbing Wall Instructor, Climbing Wall Development Instructor, Climbing Wall Instructor Abseil Module, Foundation Coach Award and Development Coach Award.
The Mountain Training Association is the support & development branch of Mountain Training, providing members with extra support and CPD opportunities. It was created in 2005 to support people working towards their qualifications and develop people who already have them. Now well established with over 5,500 members it is the nationally recognised membership organisation for climbing, walking and mountain leaders in the UK and Ireland. All Climb Devon leaders, instructors and coaches are members of the Mountain Training Association, committed to continued personal development and a set of national guidelines.
The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is the representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers. The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. Climb Devon support the BMC participation statement.

HARVEY specialises in publishing maps for outdoor recreation, created from original mapping. Climb Devon is a member of the Harvey Working Together Scheme which aims to be of a mutual benefit to professionals in the map using field. SplashMaps are fabric maps designed for the real outdoors; waterproof, washable and wearable they have clear cartography at a scale tailored for adventure.
