OVERVEIW
Wild camping opens up a whole new world of possibilities in the outdoors. If you’ve always dreamt of spending the night under the stars or accessing more remote parts of our wild land then this course will help you fulfil those dreams. You don’t need any previous wild camping experience however some hill walking experience is desirable.
AIMS
Develop the skills to plan and execute a comfortable camping trip in the UK hill and moorland alongside in-depth understanding of the environment and how to camp responsibly.

CONTENT
You will learn from the experts on what are (or not) the essential items that need to be carried on a remote and wild camping trip, how to pack and carry it all, plus how to stay warm and dry in even the most hostile of weather conditions!
We will take you through the various rucksacks, tents, sleeping mats, sleeping bags, stove systems and expedition food available on the market for either the solo backpacker or group of friends.
During our overnight you will benefit from our instructor’s years of experiences and leave with plenty of top tips. This course is run on a 1:6 ratio.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
We only supply instruction for the course, it does not include transport or personal equipment. Your instructor will want to check that personal equipment is appropriate for the activity. Listed below are the essentials;

Map information – we encourage everyone on Climb Devon summer navigation & skill courses to have a map covering Dartmoor National Park. OS map OL28 1:25 000 covers the areas we use and is the recommended map for our courses - other scales will be discussed on the course.
