DEVELOPING CLIMBERS THROUGH QUALITY COACHING

Climb Devon operates as an external coach, linked to the Quay Climbing Centre as our local accredited NICAS Primary Centre, to train and assess the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme up to NICAS Level 4 Lead Climber. We train and assess the NICAS syllabus and all certificates are awarded by the Quay Climbing Centre.

Sessions are designed for development and progression in an indoor climbing environment for participants aged years 7+ (13+ for level 4), Climb Devon also caters for adults who wish to progress through the scheme to develop their personal climbing performance and knowledge. Participants must be registered with the NICAS scheme to attend the NICAS sessions/courses. This will be done for you when starting your scheme with Climb Devon, if you are already registered with the NICAS scheme you will need to contact the centre you are registered with to transfer your candidate details to the Quay Climbing Centre. You can find out more about NICAS here.

Participants will need to contact Climb Devon to discuss their experience before booking a course, for higher level courses you will need to provide evidence of your certificate for the previous level. Please note any course dates missed are not refundable, and certain sessions must be completed before your assessments. This may mean booking private tuition to make up for any missed sessions.

The last session of a NICAS course is the assessment. If the NICAS level is not passed, the course will need to be repeated or participants will need to book and pay for a private lesson(s) until the level has been completed, before moving on to the next.
